For Optitex, whose PDS software simulates garments on avatars, a Blender tool that converts a SMPL animated FBX into Optitex’s pipeline format: consolidating the animated mesh’s shape keys, renaming the joints to Optitex’s convention (PDS aligns garment pieces by joint), generating mesh colliders for each hand, foot and ear and affixing them to the rig (hands and feet deformable, ears rigid), and exporting FBX. The colliders keep fingers, toes and ears from colliding with the garment, and carry a fully transparent shader.

For Datagen, the scope of a Blender add-on that takes a client’s canonical base identity (mesh topology, UV maps, rig, vertex groups) and its SMPL alignment; transfers the identity onto SMPL with normal maps from the scan, augments it with pose-corrective blendshapes, reposes it to a normalized A-pose and exports it; loads such an identity back to keyframe the pose-corrective weights per pose; and validates every import.
For Nike, a Blender script that separates a SMPL body into named body-part meshes from a per-vertex segmentation map.
